I offer private lessons to students who want to learn/improve upon jazz piano, composition, arranging, and/or Finale computer notation. I also teach improvisation to other instruments and coach jazz vocalists.
Former students have earned scholarships and attendance to Eastman School of Music, Berklee College of Music, Oberlin School of Music, University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and other prestigious jazz schools. While in my studio, they have won awards and performed professional jobs as students. Past students are among the most respected and prepared musicians in the community.
I teach all ages and backgrounds provided they commit to the practice needed to move forward.
The rate for a 1 hour lesson is $75 and $40 for 1/2 an hour. Lessons are scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or on an "as needed" basis. Payment can be made in cash, personal check, Venmo, or Paypal ($5 fee).
If you or a relative is interested in studying in my studio, leave a message and we'll set up a trial lesson. Trial lessons are not free lessons. In the meantime, please feel free to view my private lesson curriculum. It is of course adapted to the strengths of the student.
